Happy Birthday, Jason!

I can hardly believe it! My baby is 4 years old! To celebrate, Jared and I took Jason to Tokyo Disneyland for the day. We didn't even cover half the park, but we had a blast. Jason really loved Toontown, where he got to bounce at Goofy's house, ride the Jolly Trolley, climb through Chip and Dale's Treehouse, and frolick through the post office, fire station, and more. He was also crazy about the carousel in Fantasyland. We rode it twice in a row. He showed us how brave he was riding Splash Mountain and the Haunted Mansion. He's becoming such a big boy! Here we are, at the end of Main Street, in front of Cinderella's Castle. I have to admit, it puts the castle in Anaheim to shame. It was spectacular.

Jason had a minor fit when it was time to get off the carousel. He loved riding that white charger up and down and all around. So, we had to stand in line again, so he could do it one more time!



By about 6:00, Jason was exhausted, and fell fast asleep in his stroller while we waited in line for The Haunted Mansion. Unfortunately, once you get to a certain point in line, they take away your stroller. So Jared and I took turns holding him. The kid weighs a ton!



We didn't get home until about 11:00, but by then, Jason had his second wind. Lucky us. So, we let him open his present. We gave him a battery-powered Disney train set, complete with its own track. He was very excited by it, and stayed up until almost 1:00 in the morning playing with it.


On Sunday, Jason continued playing nonstop with his new train set. He was down on the floor so long that he fell fast asleep, with the train still running!



It was not easy providing Jason with a birthday cake this year. First of all, we don't have an oven. Second, finding the ingredients is quite a challenge. I spent all day Friday searching Yokohama for everything I needed. Four stores and four train rides later, we lugged it all back home. I baked the cake in the microwave, then had to get creative with how to make frosting. It all turned out pretty good, though. And as you can see, Jason certainly enjoyed it!
