Christmas... and Halloween

Okay, so I'm quite a bit behind with my blog. What can I say? Things have been C-R-A-Z-Y since, well, pretty much all year. I haven't even been home for 8 months. But despite the fact that we miss our San Jose home, we sure have been having fun in the meantime. We've gotten to do a lot of traveling, visited a lot of family, and seen more of the world than we intended this year. We are glad that things finally seem to be winding down to a more normal pace, and we'll FINALLY be going back home later this week.

Jason was crazy about the pirate ship and Captain Jack Sparrow costume he got for Christmas. All day we heard the clank of swords, the swish of the waves, and a whole lot of "Arrr.."

Jason really looked forward to seeing his cousin Sean at our family Christmas party. They had a great time playing together.

Jason's Christmas picture. He was so funny at the photographer's. He pretty much ran the show, telling the photographer exactly when to shoot, and what color the background should be.

Jason's been really into Star Wars since we were in Japan. Darth Vader is his all-time favorite character, though. You think I should be worried? Anyway, this was his costume. The mask had buttons on it that would mimic Darth Vader's breathing, and it would also quote lines from the movie, like, "Don't make me destroy you." Another button would make Jason's voice sound like Darth Vader's, or Darth Vader on helium, anyway. Jason loves to walk down the halls singing the Imperial March at the top of his lungs, just to warn everyone of his approach. Oh, the drama.
Jason's really been into musical instruments lately, so Jared's started teaching him a few songs. Here's the first little bit he learned.
